If there was ever a novel which spent 235 weeks in the New York Times Best Seller and fetched a whooping US $120 million in 1 week, it wound be none other than the ultimate
best-seller - TWILIGHT. Written by all-time brilliant Stephenie Meyer, the twilight series has always been one of my most eminent books of my life. Since, reading is one of my minor hobby, I only read award-wining books.
My craving for the Twilight Saga started as soon as the first of the series was released. I admit, I thought that this book was as boring as all the other books I've read but I regret saying it. Believe me, once you've started reading this fantasy and suspense-themed novel, it would be overwhelming to put it down until you've completely read the book at least 1 time. In my case, it was three times. That is how attention-gripping and enthralling TWILIGHT is.
To simplify the story, TWILIGHT goes far beyond the main character Vampire Edward Cullen's and Human Isabella "Bella" Swan's romance. Bella has to move to Phoenix, Arizona to live with her father as her mother desired to live with her "new husband". Moving to a different place meant she will have to make a whole new set of friends and settle into a new school. Bella grew a strong attraction to shockingly appealing, almost inhumanly handsome. At first Edward is unconcerned about Bella, but sometimes it almost seems like he can’t stand to be in the same room as her, but eventually they strike up an unlikely friendship. Gradually, they start a romantic relationship between themselves. Edward persuades Bella that it is menacing for her to be with him, but, the love's spell was too strong to overcome and does not heed his own warning. Edward realizes that the intensity of their yearning could lead Bella's life in danger. He craves for her blood because he is a vampire. She learns Edwards family guarded secret - VAMPIRISM. Despite the craving of blood Bella entices, Edward would not harm her as his desire towards Bella. Not only that but, the family as banned human blood and only allows animal blood.
From there, the story takes a bit of a "twist"
Their bond is provoked by the antagonist, James, a tracker vampire who is intrigued by the Edward's relationship with a human, wants to hunt Bella for pleasure. The Cullens' attempt to distract the tracker by separating up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. James plots a plan to corner Bella by claiming that he is holding her mother captive. Panic-Stricken, Bella immediately surrenders herself, James assaults her. Before she is killed, Edward, along with the other Cullens, rescues her and eliminate James. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward successfully sucks the venom from her bloodstream and prevents her from becoming a vampire. Bella is instantly brought to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school usually and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, but Edward refuses which concludes the end of TWILIGHT.
